About
A prosthesis (artificial limb or cosmetic restoration) is prescribed for congenital limb deficiencies & amputation due to Accidents, Osteosarcoma, Diabetes Mellitus etc. or deformation of certain visual parts of body i.e. nose, ear, finger, breast etc. A prosthesis can be purely of "cosmetic" purpose or "functional" or mixture of both. Missing one or both limbs is a serious issue which may lead to disability and non performance of daily living activities. Any prosthetic treatment would require atleast 3 visits (one for consultation & casting, second for trial and fitting, third for training). Additionally, gait training for more than 3 days may be required for higher level of amputations.
